Starting in the outdoor sports industry and continuing a career with one of Chicago’s oldest shops, Windward; required wearing many hats—ranging from daily product expertise and sales to merchandising and creating in-store displays. Eventually taking on larger roles in content, event coordination, web assets and team management.

Creating and managing a team of athletes requires a deep understanding of the culture, community, and influence of a core shop that embodies the lifestyle of the skateboard and snowboard industry. Developing partnerships with brands and scouting riders to sponsor creates content, a brand voice, and innovative marketing opportunities.

Taking ownership of web assets involved collaborating with vendors and buyers to manage online B2B and B2C inventory.

Moving into content creation for social media led to product and brand promotion, designing marketing resources for events and activations, and facilitated a need for the shop skate and snowboard teams.
